Let's talk about how things are, how things could be,
and the state of life in general
and the state of life in general
The Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana) is located in the abdomen in the area of the reproductive organs in the low back or hip area and is associated with sexuality. The Scaral Chakra's color is orange and it is represented by a lotus with 6 petals. This chakra is related to our urge to procreate and become partnered with a mate. This is where our emotions and desires reside.
Swadhisthana governs pleasure, sexuality and feelings. It is this chakra that takes us to the next step after we are grounded in the root chakra. With this chakra, which translates as "one's own place" we are then able to procreate and care for others. This chakra emanates out from our body both front and back. The Sacral Chakra contains our instincts to pro-create and receive pleasure. It's power is in our emotions, desires and sexuality. It is represented by the element of water and has the goals of fluidity, pleasure, healthy sexuality and feeling. This Chakra identifies with anything emotional in life. This is the chakra that is in charge when we are trying to find a mate and procreate so as to keep a part of ourselves going. The fear with this chakra is guilt. The guilt of improper emotions or the guilt of doing something emotionally or sexually that may be taboo within our group or society. When this chakra is deficient the person will have guilt over things that may or may not involve a guilty feeling. Frigidity, impotence rigidity and emotional numbness may be characteristics seen in individuals with a weak Sacral chakra. Fear of pleasure in all forms may also manifest here with deficiencies. They may also experience rigidity in the form of overly rigid boundaries. They may have no emotional response or an inappropriate lack of response in a given situation. When this chakra is excessive the person will experience an overly emotional state. They may have poor boundaries or sex addictions and obsessive attachments to people or things that they are emotionally attached too. Their emotional responses may be way out of line for the actual situation.

First of all, what is Kundalini? Wikipedia describes Kundalini as a sleeping, dormant potential force in the human body. It is a component of what is described by many as the "subtle body", that energetic component of who we are outside of the physical. The subtle body consist of nadis (energy channels), chakras (psychic energy centers), prana (subtle cosmic or Universal energy), and bindu(drops of essence or consciousness). The Bindi is a small ornamental dot applied to the forehead of females in Hinduism. Kundalini is described as being coiled up at the base of the spine and is said to reside in the triangular shaped sacrum bone in three and a half coils. The Sanskrit adjective kundalin means "circular" and also occurs as a noun for "a snake" meaning that it is coiled and forms circles. As this sleeping or dormant "snake" it resides in all of us as our potential that can be awakened by a Guru or teacher or by spiritual practices like yoga or meditation. As it is awoken it progresses through the different chakras leading to different levels of awakening. This is how they Chakras are related to Kundalini in Hindu tradition. From the Wikipedia entry for Kundalini I found the following: In some Hindu traditions, the Kundalini is perceived as the Goddess Shakti (the feminine, creative power), which when awakened will unite with Shiva, the supreme Hindu God, The Destroyer of Evil. The Kundalini, when awakened, will rise up through the central nadi (energy channel) coiling through the individual chakras awakening different levels of consciousness and mystical experience until it reaches Sahasrara (Crown Chakra). This will result in self-actualization or enlightenment. It is said to be the awakening of inner knowledge and brings with it pure joy, pure knowledge and pure love.
So this will be my interpretation of the Root Chakra.
The Root Chakra (Muladhara) is located at the base of the spine and is associated with survival. Our Fight or Flight response is under this chakra's control. The Root Chakra's color is red and it is represented by a lotus with four petals. This chakra is related to instinct, security, survival and also to basic human potentiality. Physically, Muladhara governs sexuality, mentally it governs stability, emotionally it governs sensuality, and spiritually it governs a sense of security. It is this chakra that grounds us and gives us stability to stand on our own. It is the chakra that is in control when we go out into the world to make our own way. The Root Chakra contains our survival instincts and how we relate to our physical body. It's power is primal in nature since it contains our will to survive. Our sexual and aggressive urges including anger, pain and desire are held here. The Kundalini Force resides here. Vitality and regeneration are part of this chakra. It is represented by fire and earth and our ability to be grounded. This chakra emanates down to the earth rather than out from the body. It's element is earth because of the grounding nature of "roots". Survival and grounding are the root chakra's central issues and it relates to our self preservation with stability, grounding, physical health, prosperity and trust as it's goals. The identity is with self and the physical. It is this chakra that is in charge when we are trying to make a name for ourselves in our chosen field of endeavor or when we first become individuals as children or adolescents. The main adversary of this chakra is fear. Fear of failure, fear of the unknown or fear of being able to succeed. When this chakra is deficient the person will have fear of things that have no basis for fear, a lack of discipline, be restless, possibly underweight and have a "spaciness" about that. They may be unable to commit or lack the ability to stay focused on one thing for the period of time needed to complete the task. When this chakra is excessive the person will experience a heaviness or sluggishness. They tend to be obese and may also have hoarding tendencies. They may be obsessive in their materialism and greed since they are overly concerned about having what they need to be stable in their environment. Massage clients who don't show up - So you decided you didn't need to call to cancel or reschedule or just to let us know you weren't coming in for your appointment. I could have scheduled the client who called earlier today that I had to tell I was already booked today and actually paid my rent this month!
Friends or relatives who want free massages - I would love to work on that pulled muscle for free - that's exactly why I spent 1000 hours and $15,000 on Massage School! Clients who will only come in for a massage if you are running a special or giving discounts that month - I would love to sell you 2 massages for the price of 1 because I'm still making $30 an hour, right? Oh, I forgot there is the rent this month, the cost of massage school (and that pesky student loan payment), the cost of Continuing Education that must have to keep my license, oh and that license the state says I have to have in order to actually work, my supplies (that massage cream that you love the smell of), a We aim above the mark to hit the mark. Ralph Waldo Emerson More and better service build your reputation.
The Law of Increasing Returns has to do with this. By putting in just a little bit more than someone else you can reap more and better rewards. The example in the book is from Hill's time but it still applies today. The example is when Henry Ford began paying the then famous five-dollar-a-day minimum wage. By paying more wages than the average, he received more service and better service than the average at that time. Another example is from the movie "Miracle on 34th Street" when Kris Kringle starts sending mothers to other stores to get their toys because Macy's didn't have what they were looking for. Seems foolhardy at first but makes people buy more from Macy's - "The Store that cares". Farmers have always understood that you reap more than you sow. Every seed that goes into the ground will produce much more than that one little seed. And Goodwill brings in more clients than any dollar spent in advertising. If you are employed then make yourself so useful to your employer that they wouldn't think of hiring someone else. If you run your own business then make yourself so useful to your clients that they wouldn't think of going to anyone else. And sometimes you just need to do things without ever expecting payment. "That's not my job" should not be in your vocabulary! Napoleon Hill states: "Render service to at least one person everyday, for which you neither expect or accept monetary pay." Put yourself ahead by first helping others to get ahead. Napoleon Hill was asked by Palmer School to speak at the school with a $100 speakers fee. He refused the $100 but still spoke. Dr. Palmer encouraged students to buy the magazine that he was at that time publishing. Two thousand students netted Mr. Hill $6000 in subscriptions within 1 week! Take the initiative, follow it with aggressive action and do more than you are paid for. In Lesson 7, Napoleon Hill talks about self-control. He states that lack of self control can lead to the loss of the power needed to achieve your definite purpose. In other words, loss of self control can defeat you. The enthusiasm that you have for a project must balance with the self-control needed to rush too fast into things or the desire to proceed in the face of danger or without regard to others. If a part of your definite purpose is to be in charge of others then you need to understand that you cannot control others if you cannot control yourself. Sometime we need to wear mental ear muffs. The old adage of just letting things roll off of you rather than to respond. Hill says that Imagination + a definite plan + self-confidence + action directed through self-control is the way to get to your success. The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. Marcus Aurelius You have a tremendous advantage over the man who does you an injury; you have it within your power to forgive him while he has no such advantage over you. N. Hill
In other words, don't strike back. Get angry, write it down, throw it out! Get it out of your system and don't hold on to it! One of my client's once gave me a gift. He called it a God box. It looks like a bank with a slot at the top to put in coins, however it has no way of opening it so whatever you put in it stays in it, never to be seen again. It is the old forgive and forget or as I like to say, "let go, Let God". Now I don't care what your perception of God is, all I am saying is to let go of those things that anger, frustration or worry you. And as you forget about them they will be released. You have control over your thoughts and you can select which thoughts you let in AND the ones you let go! Self-control = thought control. Using auto-suggestion and positive, constructive thoughts in harmony with your definite purpose to transform those thoughts into physical reality. Deliberately choosing your thoughts is self-control at its highest level. Thought is the most highly organized function of the mind and we consciously control it. Have you ever had to change your tone of voice in order to hide your true feelings. For example, have you ever been in an argument with someone and the phone rings? Have you answered the phone and the person on the other end had no idea you were in the middle of a heated argument? Then you know how easy it is - WHEN YOU WANT TO DO IT. This is Desire! You have the power to think and the power to control your thoughts and direct them. Hoʻoponopono (ho-o-pono-pono) is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness. "Hoʻoponopono" is defined in the Hawaiian Dictionary as "mental cleansing: family conferences in which relationships were set right through prayer, discussion, confession, repentance, and mutual restitution and forgiveness." In the context of the word Ho'o means to make and pono is correct or right so specifically the term ho'oponopono means to make right. I have been studying this for months now and using it in my own personal life. I am so mad at myself for not sharing with you all. The approved Mantra for ho'oponopono goes like this: I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I love you. Thank you. My interpretation: I'm sorry we had a disagreement, let's work on a way to make it better. Please forgive me for anything that I may have said in anger or misunderstanding. I love you for who you are regardless of what has happened to create this misunderstanding. Thank you for being who you are and what we have been together. This mantra can be done individually with the selected person or persons brought into your consciousness or in the group. In a group it is usually facilitated by a healing priest or kahuna. I look at this as a type of intervention, a way to get things back in order. Please take some time to ponder on these things. In my experience with my situation, I was deeply hurt by someone and felt a lot of anger and emotion towards this person. Had I been able to, I would have smacked them across the face when it first happened. However, I chose to seek the counsel of those people I reached out to in the ho'oponopono community online and in their books and teachings and began to do the mantra as part of a daily meditation. I then spoke the mantra words with my explanations to the person and was able to turn the situation around. We are currently speaking again although still with some reservation due to the situation that happened between us. I hope that the same can be accomplished with this for you in any of your situations. Okay, these are coming straight from iVillage (go here if you want to see the pics that go with each of these - http://www.ivillage.com/forget-ideal-9-real-weight-loss-rules-work/4-b-214013?nlcid=xd|09-12-2013|&_mid=2149535&_rid=2149535.5201.139074) but they are great rules to live by if you are trying to lose weight. It is about changing habits, not depriving yourself, cutting back on calories and moving more. I am changing my habits based on these "rules", plus starting a yoga routine and trying to cut out red meats. (Note: I still love a good steak every now and then!)
No Late-Night Eating Your ideal world thinking: "Eating in the evening will sabotage my weight-loss efforts. The best rule is to never eat after 7 p.m." Real world solution: The only thing that can sabotage your weight-loss plan is eating extra calories. You can eat whatever time you want as long as you stay within your calorie limit for the day. If you enjoy an after-dinner snack, try saving some calories from earlier in the day to eat at night. Allow yourself a snack of up to 200 calories in the evening and just eat 200 fewer calories during the day. Eat a Big Breakfast Every Day Your ideal world thinking: "For good health and weight control, breakfast is my key to success. I will cook and eat breakfast at home every day." Real world solution: You don't have to race down to the kitchen every morning to fuel up. Aim to eat breakfast within two hours of waking up and you don't need a big, elaborate breakfast. Try a bowl of instant oatmeal and a simple skim milk latte or a nutrient-dense protein bar with a piece of fresh fruit for an easy breakfast-on-the-go. Save your kitchen skills for a home-cooked breakfast on the weekends when you have more time. Never Eat Fast Food Your ideal world thinking: "Fast food is a weight-loss nightmare. It's loaded with fat and calories. Even if I feel deprived, I'm not eating it again." Real world solution: When it comes to fast food, portion size is key. Downsize your choice in any fast-food chain to a kid's meal (with water or a sugar-free soda) and you'll have an indulgence of about 400 to 500 calories. If you crave fast food, have it as an occasional treat. It will help prevent deprivation, which can lead to a loss of control and overeating. Preplanning is the best defense. Hit the Gym Every Day Your ideal world thinking: "I'm going to the gym every day, rain or shine. Nothing will interfere with my schedule." Real world solution: Get to the gym at least three days a week (more often is a bonus). Setting exercise goals for the week is optimal. Balance your efforts at the gym with at-home activities like the treadmill, free weights, or exercise DVDs. Boost the amount of activity in your daily life. This can easily be achieved by taking more stairs, parking further away from a destination and walking around when talking on the cell phone. I Have to Lose X Pounds in X Weeks Your ideal world thinking: "I'm going to lose 20 pounds in 5 weeks, and I will stick to this plan no matter how hard it is." Real world solution: Quick weight-loss is never sustained. Be sure to set a modest goal and reevaluate week to week. The first week or two of any weight-loss plan is the "honeymoon" period. Aim for five pounds within the first two weeks and any additional weight loss is a bonus. Early success is the best way to stay motivated. Go one week at a time and remember that "not gaining" is still success! Eat Homemade Organic Meals Everyday Your ideal world thinking: "I'm going to shop at the farmer's market daily on my way home from work and prepare a low-calorie, healthy dinner every night." Real world solution: While we want to "go green" in our eating, shopping and cooking, doing so is a major time commitment. Aim to shop once or twice a week at a farmer's market or the organic or locally grown section of your grocery store. Keep some pantry basics on hand, like canned tuna, for days when you can't cook. Frozen calorie-controlled entrees can provide a healthy microwaveable meal in minutes when time is tight. No Snacking Your ideal world thinking: "I'm going to cut out a late-afternoon snack to save calories; that way, I can eat more for dinner." Real world solution: It's best to stop eating by the clock and start listening to your hunger and fullness signals. If hunger strikes, having a snack two to three hours before you plan to eat is often the best way to avoid overeating at dinner. Keep healthy nutrient-rich snacks handy, like an apple or low-fat yogurt, so you're not tempted to visit the vending machines. Take Lots of Supplements Your ideal world thinking: "I want to include special dietary supplements to optimize my nutrient needs and boost my energy and health." Real world solution: When it comes to vitamins and other dietary supplements, more is not better. Nutrients from foods should be the main source of nutrient intake since a supplement cannot replace real food. One daily vitamin & mineral supplement with 100 percent of the recommended daily intake (RDI) can cover your basic needs. (Women 50 or older should look for a vitamin without iron.) Talk to your doctor before adding any additional supplements. Throw Out All Junk Food Your ideal world thinking: "I'm going to put myself on a strict 'boot camp' eating regimen by eliminating ALL treats from my eating plan. Out of sight, out of mind." Real world solution: While we'd like to think that keeping tempting treats out of view will help support healthy eating, it often backfires when we feel like we're restricting ourselves too much. Within a structured eating plan, You can still fit in a modest treat or indulgence. Allowing yourself a snack of 100 calories or so--whether it's a few squares of dark chocolate or an oatmeal cookie--can actually help you stay on track by keeping you from feeling deprived, so you don't lose control later and overeat. Enthusiasm - A state of mind that inspires and arouses one to put action into the task at hand. Have you ever been around anyone who was enthusiastic? Their enthusiasm is contagious and affects everyone with whom they come in contact. These kind of people and "infect" people so easily that afterwards people that were "infected" will say "How did you ever talk me into that?" By mixing enthusiasm with your work, you will never be bored and the work will not seem hard. The old saying "If you love your job, you will never work a day in your life", comes to mind. Enthusiasm about a task also enables you to perform more work in a given time without becoming tired. Even if you are currently in a job that you do not enjoy, due to other circumstances, you can still continue to plan and work on ways to achieve your definite purpose that you have set for yourself in life. As you develop enthusiasm about your definite purpose (your long range goal), no matter if you are in position to achieve it at this time, you are still setting the stage for that end result. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait, the grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will, and energy to execute your ideas. - Henry Ford By being enthusiastic, you may pass that enthusiasm to those around you. By doing this and along with the doing, be enthusiastic in your speech and thoughts you are passing the suggestion of enthusiasm to others. What this means is that the way you speak when you are enthusiastic is very different from the way you speak if you are bored when doing a job. Imagine how that translates to the people you are around! Especially if any part of your job includes sales! Being enthusiastic about a product or service you are trying to sell put a very different suggestion into the mind of those to whom you are trying to sell. SO the action of enthusiasm must be followed with words of enthusiasm in order for it to be able to apply the principle of suggestion. The other part of suggestion has to do with your thoughts, as most things usually do in this book and in many others out there, including The Secret. If your thoughts, your words and your actions are in harmony, you are bound to influence those around you. Now you may say that you are not in the selling business and that is not part of your definite purpose, but I say that we are all in the selling business when it comes to our definite purpose. You may have to "sell" a significant other on the idea you are presenting, maybe you have to "sell" your current employer on an idea that will get you to where you see yourself in the company, etc. In order to get to your definite purpose you sometimes even have to "sell" yourself on the idea that it is even possible. Being enthusiastic about it is one of the principles that will get you there! Now I must warn you that as it is with all thoughts, actions and words. Negative ones will come to pass just as readily as positive ones. So doing, saying or thinking things that are negative in an enthusiastic way will bring about the same result! Every production of genius must be the production of enthusiasm. Disraeli The human mind is a very marvelous piece of equipment! Much more complicated that any computer. Everything that enters the brain is recorded, whether positive or negative in our unconscious. When it comes from the unconscious into the conscious all the memories that are associated with that thought also come into play. Therefore the old saying "like attracts like" comes into play here through the principle of auto suggestion. The principle of suggestion to others as well as your own auto suggestion should always be associated with positive experiences and with the principle of enthusiasm. Believe in yourself and the definite purpose you have set for yourself.
There have been no smoothies for a while as I was traveling and then went on a no-sugar routine to get my blood sugar back in balance and to do a cleanse.
But now the raspberries are in season and so I have been picking! Yesterday it was a banana and raspberries, coconut milk and vanilla protein powder. YUMMY! And so pretty too! Sorry no pics, I drank it too fast, but I will be making more. Today it was pineapple, the rest of a mango, my remaining banana, coconut milk and vanilla protein powder! Again yumminess that I drank quicker than I could take a picture! Will be working on some vegetable juice smoothies as soon as the harvest begins in full swing. Hmmmm, those freshly picked red be |
